That's awesome ... trust me you'll go through periods of "OMIGOD WHAT HAVE I DONE" but it'll be so much better in the long run for you.

Well, congratulations. I don't know if you feel lousy or wonderful or both of them at different times, but you'll be okay. It'll be hard if you two are trying to be friends, though. If you're going down that road, try to cut contact for a while and it will be a lot easier later.

I'm really proud of you. As difficult as it is to break up with someone when you were together for so long and that you love so much, being a part (for real) will give you a great perspective of what you really want for yourself. Keep your chin up through all the hard stuff that comes with the breakup; I promise that there is sunshine on the other side!
